2. Le vin rouge
La consommation de vin rouge semble associée à un désir sexuel plus élevé chez les femmes, comme le suggère une étude italienne sur 798 femmes vivant la région du Chianti, en Toscane. Elles ont été séparées en trois groupes en fonction de leur consommation de vin rouge : un groupe de femmes abstinentes, un groupe avec une consommation quotidienne modérée d’un à deux verres de vin rouge et un groupe qui buvait quotidiennement plus de deux verres de vin rouge et/ou d'autres types de boissons alcoolisées. Le groupe qui avait le désir sexuel le plus élevé était celui des femmes qui consommaient modérément du vin rouge. Mais aucune différence significative entre les groupes n'a été observée concernant les relations sexuelles, l'excitation, la satisfaction, la douleur et l'orgasme. Pour les auteurs, ces résultats suggèrent « une relation potentielle entre la consommation de vin rouge et une meilleure sexualité ».
3. Le safran
Le safran est une épice obtenue à partir de la fleur de Crocus sativus, une plante cultivée depuis des siècles en région méditerranéenne. Considéré comme un remède naturel contre la dépression, le safran est également populaire pour ses effets aphrodisiaques mais plutôt chez les personnes prenant des antidépresseurs. Il a été testé notamment chez des personnes souffrant de dépression majeure et prenant de la fluoxétine. Toutefois son efficacité chez les personnes en bonne santé n’est pas démontrée. Le safran peut être consommé au cours des repas comme épice. Attention des doses supérieures à 1 200 mg peuvent provoquer nausées et vomissements.
